Abstract

Conservative surgery for osteoarthrosis has waned in popularity since the advent of total hip arthroplasty.6,7,10,14,17 The long-term implications of failure and repeated revision arthroplasty in young patients, however, support the need for surgery aimed at joint conservation. This study was set up in the hope of finding a procedure that would arrest or even reverse the degenerative process and delay the need for joint arthroplasty.
