Abstract

In recent years, arthroscopic and arthroscopically assisted stabilization techniques for acute AC-joint dislocation have gained in importance. Besides the potential advantages such as the reduction of surgical trauma and risk of infection as well as a cosmetically more pleasing result, modern techniques do not require obligatory implant removal. Regarding short- to mid-term clinical and radiological results, arthroscopic or arthroscopically assisted stabilization procedures, especially using pulley systems, lead to an at least similar outcome compared to that of open techniques.
