Evaluation des Rückenkollegs für Beschäftigte im Gesundheitswesen

Zusammenfassung

Hintergrund

Pflegepersonal ist von einer erhöhten beruflichen Belastung der Wirbelsäule betroffen. Das Rückenkolleg als berufsbezogene stationäre Rehabilitation, die das Ausscheiden aus der Pflegetätigkeit wegen bandscheibenbedingter Erkrankungen der Lendenwirbelsäule verhindern soll, wurde in einer Studie evaluiert.

Methode

Eine aus 396 Personen bestehende Interventionsgruppe und eine 142 Probanden umfassende Kontrollgruppe wurden mittels eines Erhebungsbogens befragt.

Ergebnisse

Rückenkollegteilnehmer waren zum Zeitpunkt der Befragung statistisch signifikant häufiger (77% vs. 57%) weiterhin in der Kranken- und Altenpflege beschäftigt. Die Anzahl der Probanden, die bei Befragung pflegerisch tätig waren und starke Schmerzen angaben, ging in der Rückenkolleggruppe statistisch signifikant deutlicher zurück (43% vs. 33%) als in der Kontrollgruppe. Die erlernten Arbeitstechniken wurden von 70% der Probanden der Interventionsgruppe angewendet.

Schlussfolgerungen

Interventionsmaßnahmen mit multifaktoriellem, berufsbezogenem Ansatz scheinen positive Effekte bei der Rehabilitation von Pflegekräften mit bandscheibenbedingten Erkrankungen zu haben.

Abstract

Background

Nursing professionals are exposed to greater work-related stress on the spine than those doing other kinds of work. An occupation-related secondary preventative intervention designed to reduce the likelihood of nurses leaving their profession due to back problems has been evaluated.

Methods

An intervention group of 369 nurses and a control group of 142 nurses were interviewed using a questionnaire.

Results

When the questionnaire was administered the proportion of subjects who were still employed as nurses (77%) was statistically significantly higher in the intervention group than in the control group (57%). The proportion of those still working as nurses who complained of intense low back pain was reduced by 43% in the intervention group, as against 33% in the control group, also a statistically significant difference. The techniques taught were used by 70% of the nurses in the intervention group.

Conclusion

Job-related multifactorial interventions appear to have positive effects on back health in nurses.
