Augmented tenoplasty in a case of tibialis anterior tendon rupture

Summary

A tendon transfer or interposition tendon graft is usually recommended for treatment of late diagnosed ruptures of the tibial anterior tendon. A new operative technique using augmented tenoplasty is described in one patient. After 3 years the patient was asymptomatic and showed normalized function. The operative method has the advantage of no additional loss of function in comparison with other methods.

Zusammenfassung

Zur Therapie einer veralteten Ruptur der Sehne des M. tibialis anterior wird entweder eine Sehnentransposition oder Sehnentransplantation empfohlen. Anhand eines Fallbeispiels wird die operative Versorgung mit einer augmentierten Umkehrplastik beschrieben; 3 Jahre nach operativer Rekonstruktion war der Patient subjektiv beschwerdefrei bei gutem funktionellen Ergebnis. Die Umkehrplastik hat den Vorteil, daß es im Vergleich zu den bisher beschriebenen Operationen zu keinen funktionellen Einbußen kommt.
