Silymarin, an inhibitor of prostaglandin synthetase

Summary

Silybin (I), silydianin (II) and silychristin (III), the main constituents of silymarin, inhibit the formation of prostaglandins in vitro. The inhibition is log-linearly dependent on the concentration of the effectors.
