Deuteranope spectral sensitivity measured with ERG flicker photometry

Abstract

Flicker photometric electroretinography was used to measure the spectral sensitivity of eleven deuteranopes under test conditions that isolate the activity of middle to long wavelength cones. The spectra obtained from these measurements were closely fit by photopigment nomograms and the average λmax value, 562 nm, is close to other estimates for the peak of the longest cone found in normal trichromats. The interobserver variation in the shapes of the spectra was small.
