Abstract
Human cutaneous malignant melanoma is in many respects an interesting tumour, not the least owing to its metastazising behaviour. Much attention has been paid to its dissemination to regional lymph nodes and to the management of clinically uninvolved nodes. However, it should be noted that melanomas often disseminate to distant organs without affecting regional lymph nodes.
