Growth Inhibition of Simulated Metastases by a Large Primary Tumor

  • Chapter
Metastasis

Part of the book series: Developments in Oncology ((DION,volume 4))

Abstract

Cell cultures in diffusion chambers (DC) implanted into the abdominal cavity of host animals are a convenient method to study cell proliferation (Benestad 1970). Cell-to-cell interaction between cultured and host cells is prevented by the chamber walls, whereas the cultured cells may be freely exposed to humoral factors.
