Abstract
This chapter describes the individual components required for effective training in colonoscopy. However, the principles and techniques of training colonoscopy are applicable to skills training in the operating room, especially the training of laparoscopic surgery. The chapter is divided into three sections: an overview of the core attributes of effective trainers; a framework for effective technical skills training; and other concepts contributing to high quality skills training.
