Patient ethnicity influences access to care for acute cerebral infarction In the event of an acute cerebral infarction, rapid application of reperfusion therapy is essential. Studies from the USA found that certain ethnic and racial minority groups, especially Black patients, were less likely to undergo reperfusion therapy than their majority counterparts, even after controlling for start-to-door time. There was no strong evidence for such an effect across Europe, but a new Italian study offers worrying results.
