Prof. Mirko Petrovic is a professor of geriatrics and the chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine and Paediatrics at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Ghent University, Belgium.
His research includes outlining the patterns and quality of drug utilization in older in-patients and those residing in nursing homes; assessing the quality of prescribing and determining the extent to which prescriptions are tailored to real medical needs and contributing to the organization and implementation of better prescribing policies for older people.
He currently serves as the President of the European Geriatric Medicine Society (EuGMS).
