Prof. Barbara van Munster is Professor of Internal Medicine, with a specialty in Geriatrics, and Head of the Alzheimer Center Groningen, University Medical Centre Groningen, The Netherlands.
Her research focuses on the quality of complex, integrated and coordinated multidisciplinary hospital care for vulnerable older people with multimorbidity. The main goal is to further improve outcomes of interest in hospital care, with a focus on cost-effectiveness.
She works intensively with patients and several key disciplines, including; nurses, paramedics and technology and guideline developers, to accomplish this task and promote implementation in everyday care.
