We read with great interest the global consensus statements by Thwaites et al., “Management of adult sepsis in resource-limited settings: global expert consensus statements using a Delphi method,” in the journal’s January 2025 issue [1]. Given the increasing burden of critical illness, we commend the authors for recognizing and responding to the urgent need for critical care and providing active approaches for assessing and diagnosing sepsis outside designated critical care areas. …
