Excerpt

The management of gynecologic organs during cytoreductive surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (CRS/HIPEC) for patients with non-gynecologic peritoneal metastases remains unclear. The lack of established guidelines leads to considerable variation in surgical practice, potentially impacting oncological outcomes and quality of life for this patient population.1 Our international survey of peritoneal surface malignancy surgeons revealed significant differences in practice patterns regarding the management of gynecologic organs during CRS/HIPEC for non-gynecologic peritoneal metastases.2
