Abstract

The therapeutic effect and the side effect of prednisolone in two regimen, “alternate-day (every 48 hours)” versus “daily” (continuous, divided in 3-4 doses) were evaluated in 10 children with nephrotic syndrome (late responder and non responder case) using cross-over method. The side effects, especially hypertensive tendency, and the weight gain were less, however, therapeutic effect was weak in the former regimen compared to the latter. No significant differences were noted in the adrenocortical response to synthesized ACTH between two steroid regimen.
