Brain biopsy is useful and relatively safe for unexplained neurological disorders

MedNet.nl: Many central nervous system disorders with an atypical presentation can be diagnosed with relatively non-invasive techniques, but a portion remains unexplained. A brain biopsy can then provide clarity. This is almost always the case with brain tumors, but a Dutch study now shows that a brain biopsy can also be useful for other unexplained disorders.
