Patients with unresectable colorectal liver metastases (uCRLM) have limited treatment options and poor survival outcomes. Hepatic arterial infusion (HAI) pump chemotherapy is an existing therapeutic strategy gaining renewed interest both in the US and internationally.1 Because this treatment modality requires significant infrastructure and expertise, HAI has historically been limited to a few highly specialized centers. With the wider adoption of HAI comes a definite need to establish optimized standards of patient selection, technical training, and treatment delivery and to definitively determine the efficacy of HAI for uCRLM in the context of modern-day chemotherapy, data which do not currently exist. …
