The study conducted by Liu et al. [1] exploring the effects of clonidine on sleep quality in patients in the post-operative high-dependency unit (HDU) was of significant interest to us. The findings indicated that, compared to a placebo, clonidine improved the sleep quality of patients. The efforts made by the authors to enhance the perioperative experience for patients are sincerely appreciated. However, four points warrant further discussion with the authors. …
