We have read with interest the article “Entrapment within an ottoman storage bed: an unusual accidental asphyxial death”, in which Cinquetti et al. described a case of a woman entrapped between the mattress and edge of a bed storage box who died due to “asphyxiation by three different mechanisms acting simultaneously: neck compression and traumatic and postural asphyxia” [
1]. The authors highlight the possibility that several pathophysiologic mechanisms’ simultaneous contributions must be considered to reconstruct the dynamics of a particular event and asphyxiation [
