HbA1c screening in ACS puts de novo (pre)diabetes in good focus

MedNet.nl: Elevated HbA1c was seen in more than 35% of patients treated for acute coronary syndrome with percutaneous coronary intervention, who were not previously diagnosed with diabetes. Diabetes significantly increases the risk of serious adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events in these individuals. Active diabetes screening and treatment are therefore extremely important for these patients.
